High School Graduation

So. My high school graduation, hm?

Let me first say I cling to normalcy with every shred of my being. I dislike drastic changes, and I avoid them whenever possible.

I wouldn't claim my high school years as the best of my life, but it was familiar. And because it was a tiny high school, I knew practically everybody, teachers and students.

Whatever year I was in, the class sizes I think topped ten students only ever when we were combined with other grades. My graduating class was seven people, including me; I had known three of those six classmates since middle school at least.

Also, I got along with everybody. Teachers and students. There was some conflict here and there, of course; but are you starting to get a picture of why I didn't want to leave?

Anyways, there could only be one thing worse than graduation itself, and that would be if I had to give a speech.

Well, guess what?

I had to give a speech.

Okay, enough background info, I suppose. Brace yourselves for next time.

News

So I just had a thought. Yes, those do hit me once in a while. ...Wait, I lost it.

Oh, okay, here it is again: One reason I probably have so little to talk about is because I don't really read/watch anything that is considered "news." Sometimes news upsets me, sometimes it confuses me, and sometimes I have no reaction at all. So I avoid it. But I think some other bloggers maybe include certain bits of it into their blogs, am I right?

Well, if I'm wrong, more power to all bloggers everywhere! Woot! =D

I vaguely included news into my stump speech the other day. (NO MORE SPEECHES NOW! I'M FREEEEE!!!! ...For the semester, anyways. Hopefully for many years. It'd be great if I went my whole life and never gave another speech.) I decided the problem with news was the appalling shortage of good news. ELECT ME FOR PRESIDENT, AND I VOW TO ENSURE GOOD NEWS WILL BE SHOWN AT LEAST AS MUCH AS THE BAD!

...Yeah, the speech was basically a mock thing where everyone in my class was running for President of the U.S.A. My proposed solution to the lack of good news was make sure that, Mondays through Saturdays, there was a fifty-fifty mix of good and bad news. There was also the potential to make more good than bad. And on Sundays, only some emergency like 9-11 would be able to worm its way into our news. Otherwise, Sundays would be full of nothing but good news.

You like? Yay, then vote for me! ...Yes, yes, I know I just said it was a mock thing, don't ruin my fun. -_-

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! You know, I typed up an entire blog post about something else entirely before I remembered it was Thanksgiving - published it, too. n_n; So if you were here before I unpublished it, you may see a "repeated" post tomorrow; sorry about that.

Anyways, what are your plans for today? Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and all that traditional stuff? I think that's pretty much what my family's doing. We might be doing a couple other things today too, who knows. For one thing, I have a lot of homework to work on over break.

However, we're here today to be thankful! So yep, it looks like you're going to have to put up with me being just like everybody else today: listing the things I'm grateful for. ;D

First and foremost, I'm thankful for my Lord Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation. I'm thankful for the family He's placed me in and the home He's given me. I'm thankful for the school He pulled a few strings to get me into, and I'm thankful for the trials He has helped me overcome there.

I'm thankful for days like yesterday, wherein I did nothing but relax. I'm thankful for books, some of my best friends. I'm thankful for games, where I get to control to a degree what happens. I'm thankful for nonograms, which have provided me with many distracting hours of fun and problem-solving and counting, leaving me in the end with a wonderful picture for my troubles.

I'm thankful for songs, to cheer me up or relieve stress or simply express when I'm too happy for anything else. Hey, that kind of rhymed, didn't it? I'm grateful for happy accidental moments, too!

I'm grateful for my hamsters, especially Hamtaro #1, who is lying right beside my laptop at this moment. I'm grateful for Disney. I'm grateful for chocolate. Oh, and I'm thankful for the laptop upon which I'm typing this.

And while I'm at it, I'm most definitely grateful for you! I'm not sure how many of you are regulars at my blog, but I love you all! Even though none of you say anything, it's nice just knowing you're there. ♥

Rambling

Hm, now that I'm out of Princess Tales stories to talk about, I need to find a new topic. Only question is, can I find something to ramble about, or must I go running back to my bookshelf?

Depending on my bookshelf to provide me with something to talk about seems sort of like cheating, somehow. Doesn't it?

...Now, I'm going to change the topic randomly, and I'm counting on you to act as though it makes sense.

My blog title - just the overall title for this entire blog - Here I Am - drives me crazy. I picked it out on a whim. And ever since, every time I so much as glance at my blog title, a specific song has played through my head. My very first post's title is a continuation reference to the same song. How many of you have figured it out already?

Seen in the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is the song "Here I Am." It's not a bad song. I like it. Or... I liked it. You probably know very well that any repeated in your head too often gets annoying. I've even heard of people whose favorite song becomes one they can't stand because they heard it too often.

Time for another random topic change. Time for you to smile and nod and say, "Yes, Miss Kaiti, I understand that transition perfectly! Thank you for using it in such a wonderful way!" Time for me to smile and pat you on the head proudly and move into my next thing to say.

I feel like I may have slightly overused italics in this post. Not terribly, but enough to be noticeable. Hmm.

I once read a book (shocking!) that had a character whose vocal chords were probably very much abused by the girl's overuse of italics. Maybe I'll tell you some more about that book tomorrow.

What? Didn't I just say running to my bookshelf was cheating? Silly reader, this book is on my Kindle. It's completely different.

... ... ...Psst, your line is, "I can't wait until tomorrow! Whether you use your Kindle or some other topic, I'll be on pins and needles waiting for you to put up another fantastic post!"

Awww, aren't you just the sweetest. I'll see you tomorrow, darling reader. =)

Alarm Clocks

I had the perfect topic to talk about last night as I fell asleep. Now I can't remember what it was. Just so you know, it was going to inspire you. You were going to gasp in shock and awe of the depth of my wisdom.

But now you're just going to have to put up with my craziness again.

You want to know my favorite type of alarm clock? The kind that doesn't wake me up.

You want to know me second favorite kind of alarm clock? The kind that doesn't beep at me annoyingly when it finally goes off and I'm ready for it.

I currently have the best alarm clock possible - it combines my two favorites. It's going to go off in about three minutes as I'm typing this. And when it does, it'll be chimes rather than beeping, because that's how it's made. With wind chimes. And a thing at the bottom of the chimes to set them off when there's no wind. Because who here has the ability to make wind make their alarm clocks go off at just the right time?

*points to one person with their hand up* You. Are incredible. Can you teach me? No? Aww, grr...

My alarm clock just went off. Maybe it's a sign I should wrap this up now. So, good morning everybody! Have a great day and, as my high school teacher says, a better tomorrow! Not that that means I won't post this again tomorrow. Not that that means that I will, either, though.

You'll have to wait... and see... Mwahahaha!

Wassup

Okay, so today's post will probably be short and more or less pointless, because I'm just in a mood to ramble. Also because I don't have a lot of time before I have to be in class.

Why am I typing this right as I'm about to go to class? Silly asker, it's because I didn't type it sooner.

Why didn't I type it sooner? Because I was studying. And because I slept in about half an hour.

What was I studying for? If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

Why did I sleep in? Because normally the sun wakes me up. Today, my eyelids must've blocked it out better or something. But I still woke up before my alarm, so no harm done.

Do I always wake up before my alarm? Yes.

What's with that short response? You're boring me.

Why am I boring me? Because I'm too weird sometimes even for me.

Why am I so weird? I blame genes. My dad is weird. My mom isn't weird, which makes her twice as weird. So I got a triple dosage.

Isn't everyone weird? Yes.

Why am I giving myself a Q&A? I just told you, I'm rambling and I'm weird.

So, yeah, I guess that's about it. Until tomorrow!

Brainstorming

Hm, so what should I put in here this morning? (I know what you're thinking: Oh, great, she's being indecisive again. Yes, unfortunately, I am.)

Let's see... I'm pretty much just typing as I think of words, so maybe today's topic could be listing topics? I don't know how much I can come up with, but if I can even come up with just one thing, maybe it could provide me with something to talk about today or tomorrow.

I've been told that books reviews could make a good blog post. I've seen several blogs with a main theme. Could my theme be books? According to Goodreads dot com, I've read more than two hundred books.

Or maybe I could type about grammar. I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with it, because there are times I purposely break grammar rules. But I do like to make sure to avoid mistakes. Same with spelling, but spellcheck has taken that joy (or responsibility) away from us.

I don't like a lot of books that seem to be "classics." I don't like The Scarlet Letter. Just no. I don't really care for Silas Marner, but then again we never finished it in class. Is Narnia considered among the classics? If so, that's something I do enjoy. Narnia is awesome, at least for the first few books.

What about chocolate? I wrote a blog about purple the other day. Maybe I could come up with enough chocolate-related stuff to make a blog about chocolate. Yum. Three Musketeers. Hershey's bar. M&M's. -blissful sigh-

Okay, there's no way I can on a better note than chocolate. Unless maybe Disney. Which I just added. So the end is now, people. Until next time! *curtain falls*

This Is Me

So I created this blog on what some might call a whim, but I think it will become gradually more important to me. I want to increase my writing skills, and what better way to do that than to write and write and write about just anything?

This first one should probably be about me, though. It sounds selfish even to me, so let's get it over with quickly.

My name is Kaitlin - or Kaiti, if you would rather. I am a college firstyear, and I am a female American citizen. And I'm secretly Batman.

I read. Gail Carson Levine, Shannon Hale, Victoria Hanley, and Trenton Lee Stewart are the authors I like and from whom I have read multiple works. But perhaps I should mention that my all-time favorite Author is God.

I write. I'm starting a blog (clearly). And I have a fanfiction.net account; but no, I will not tell you my penname. Maybe later, but for now I want to enjoy anonymity.

I crochet. I've made blankets, shawls, purses, bookmarks, and even some necklaces.

I do different accents. Sometimes British, sometimes Irish, sometimes Scottish, sometimes southern, and I think I've even attempted Australian before. Also, for those of you who know the movie Hoodwinked, I have a bad habit of mimicking Japheth.

Disney is awesome. Don't even try to dispute that point. Just don't.

I draw. Mostly just Hamtaro and friends, and the occasional anime original character.

I love you. Because I just do.

And I look forward to seeing where this blog takes me. ;)
