Rearranging

So. Last night I did some rearranging of my bookshelves. After 10pm, too. I kept expecting my dad (my parents' bedroom is directly beneath mine) to come up and tell me to knock it off, but I guess I was quiet enough.

Why was I rearranging? Good question. My answer: my movies fell off the top of one.

I can't remember if I told you or not, but I got some movies for Christmas. And only yesterday did I add some of them (the ones we've seen so far) to my line-up of others. Since I keep my movies on the top shelf (since there's no room for them everywhere else), I have bookends to keep them from falling off.

But I finally got too many movies for even my bookends to keep them up, and they slid every which way. Dad did come to the bottom of my steps and say something then, but I think he had already been on his way to tell me to turn down my laptop volume because he said something almost directly after everything had fallen.

Anyways. So I had to make room. I recently got another bookshelf in my room, because my mom apparently has a similar issue with her books, though I'm not yet quite as bad. So this extra bookshelf in my room is basically stuffed with her own books, with a little room at the bottom where I put some of my own extra books that had no place to go. So I rearranged that bookshelf first, squeezing more books onto each of the top shelves so that I could put more of my own on the bottom.

That left a little bit of space in my other bookshelf so that I could kind of divide up my movies. Some are still up top with the bookends, and some are moved to a different shelf with the shelf itself and other books keeping them from falling.

And apparently, I did all this rearranging quietly enough for my extremely sound-sensitive-at-night dad not to ask me to quiet down again. Yay!
